Welcome to the Death Valley Half Marathon, 10K & 5K!
CANCELLED!!! We were advised on September 30th by Death Valley National Park that the new Superintendent has decided to cancel all permits for sporting events in the Park. Claiming safety reasons, NO SPORTING EVENTS ARE ALLOWED IN DEATH VALLEY (other than events for which permits had already been finalized). While our Park permit had been submitted MONTHS ago, it was contingent upon the issuance of a Cal Trans permit, which was in the queue and would have been granted within a week or so.
LIMITED BY PERMIT TO 300 RUNNERS!
Race with us in one of America’s most unique National Parks – a land of extremes. Death Valley is the hottest – with a record high of 134 degrees, the highest ever recorded under natural conditions on the North American continent. It’s the driest – with humidity levels below 1% in the heat of the summer. It’s the lowest – at minus 282′ below sea level, Badwater is the lowest point in North America. It’s the biggest – the largest National Park in the U.S.
Join us in December, when the weather is mild with an average high of 65 degrees and an average low of 40 degrees. Perfect temps for a run in the stark, beautiful desert.
